Lions Club renovates school, donates eye glasses

The Lions Club International Foundation and the Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club, have partnered to renovate Agidingbi Primary School classrooms and the school library.


The project marked a significant milestone in enhancing the learning environment for children.

District Governor, Professor Dayo Fagbohun, said Lions Club Int’l would always be involved in anything related to medical attention and educational purposes.

The district governor added that the commissioning of the building is a testament to the club commitment to providing conducive learning environments for all Nigerian children.

The newly inaugurated facility boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including well-equipped classrooms, lighting, a library, ceiling fans, and tiled floors.

The head teacher of Agidingbi Primary School, Deji Alao, expressed her gratitude, stating, “This is a welcome development because a conducive environment will enhance the learning and teaching process.”

Lions Club International District Coordinator for Lion 404b2 Nigeria,  Lion Tolulope Sebanjo, highlighted the clubs’ broader mission of serving humanity. “From disaster relief to hunger alleviation, Lions Club International Foundation is committed to supporting initiatives that benefit communities. The refurbishment of Agidingbi Primary School exemplifies this commitment.”


Adding to that, the eight president of the Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club, Lion Sanyaolu Opeyemi, underscored the importance of providing equal opportunities in education. “Every child, regardless of background, deserves access to quality education in a safe and conducive environment. Our efforts at Agidingbi Primary School are a step towards achieving this goal.”

He continued that adding to the infrastructure overhaul, the Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club conducted eye screenings, identifying over 50 individuals in need of vision correction. Lion Opeyemi emphasised, “Our medical outreach programs align with our commitment to serving humanity, ensuring that essential healthcare services reach those in need.”

As Lions Club International continues its community development initiatives, Lion Opeyemi called upon government officials and citizens to support these noble endeavors. “We urge both local authorities and individuals to join hands with us in fulfilling our collective responsibility to serve our communities,” he said.
