The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) recently approved an increase in the electricity tariff, particularly for customers under Band A.
Customers under Band A are to enjoy 20–24 hours of electricity supply daily, while those under Band B are the ones who get a daily electricity supply of 16–20 hours; Band C is supplied with a minimum of 12–16 hours; Band D is supplied with a minimum of 8–12 hours; and Band E is supplied with a minimum of 4–8 hours.

According to information from Eko Electricity Distribution Company, several areas on Lagos Island fall under Band A. These areas include:

Islands District: ΝEPA 1, Poste RMU, CSS, New Customs, Station Feeder, Ikoyi Hotel, ΝEPA 2, and NTDA.

Other areas in the Islands district include Dover, Standard Chartered Bank, Kingsway, Mobolaji Johnson and Mulliner Tower.
