Make best use of varsity education, VC charges fresh students

The Vice Chancellor, Precious Cornerstone University, (PCU), Ibadan, Prof. Julius Kola Oloke, has urged students of the university to make the best use of the opportunity offered by university education.

Oloke also lauded the Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan and the university’s Chancellor, Francis Wale Oke, for his contributions to educational development.

The VC made the charge during the fifth matriculation ceremony of the faith-based university, held at the university auditorium.

Oloke stated that over 170 students would be admitted into the different programmes in the faculties of Pure and Applied Sciences and Social and Management Sciences.

He urged the fresh students to make the best use of the opportunity by obeying all laid down rules, shunning vices, and acts capable of causing a breach of peace.

He said: “To our matriculating students, I wish to congratulate you for the opportunity to acquire skills that can make you become employers of labour. Make the best use of this opportunity by allowing the university to pass through you. Follow laid down rules and shun acts capable of causing a breach of peace.”
