•Seeks data-driven system for measuring gender equity in energy sector
In recognition of her invaluable contributions in the ongoing commercialisation of the NNPC Limited, Strategic Women in Energy, Oil & Gas has presented a Lifetime Achievement award to the Chairman Board of Directors, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Senator Margery Chuba-Okadigbo.
The award was presented to the NNPC Chairman during the 2023 Strategic Women in Energy, Oil & Gas Northern Summit, which was put together as part of activities to mark this year’s International Women’s Day, under the theme, The Limitless Woman: Leveraging Innovation And Technology.
Receiving the award, Senator Okadigbo who thanked the group for the hounour, equally made case for development of data-driven systems for measuring gender equity in the Nigerian energy sector, to appreciate the extent of the challenge and end the gaps.
While dedicating the award to the Board of Directors and Management of NNPC Limited, Senator Okadigbo noted, “they have been so welcoming and have really encouraged me to do my best in this position. It’s one family for us at NNPC Limited; Board meetings are like family meeting at NNPC.
To the management of NNPC Limited in particular, who are responsible for executing and implementing a lot of those policies that we made at the Board level, I want to say ‘thank you’ for putting NNPC as that energy choice for today, for tomorrow and fore the future.”
