Mbelede tasks new knights of St. Mulumba on ethical conducts

Charles Mbelede

The Supreme Knight of St. Mulumba (KSM), who heads the order in Nigeria, Cameroon and Uganda, Dr Charles Mbelede, has charged the 125 newly admitted members of the order to display honour and integrity for the betterment of mankind, society and to the glory of God.

The 125 new members were of the order of the KSM, Lagos Metropolitan Council and were admitted into its 3rd Degree fold. Mbelede gave the charge during the 3rd Degree investiture ceremony held in Lagos by the Metropolitan Grand Knight, Sir Don Eze.

The new ‘worthy Brothers and Sisters’ were inducted after receiving instructions and communions from Chaplain, Lagos Metropolitan Council, Rev, Fr. Emmanuel Ayeni,

Mbelede explained that the investiture, which has a large attendance was aimed at bringing together qualified “brothers and sisters who are competent and found Worthy Knights and Ladies of the Order.”

He said: “They are men and women of honour and integrity. They are expected to dedicate their time, talent and treasure for the betterment of mankind, to the glory of God.”

Drawing on his experience as a consultant, he emphasised the importance of ethical conduct, professionalism and attention to detail.

“I’m a consultant. I work with ethical minds as a knight, with sense of professionalism and attention to detail and that is what all knights do, anywhere you are, you are supposed to be a flag bearer, you are supposed to display your honour and integrity for the betterment of mankind, to the society and to glory of God. That is what we all do,” he said.

Earlier, Sir Ezeh said the new inductees have demonstrated commitment and resilience through the last 10 years to arrive at the unique milestone of elevation to the 3rd degree of their Honoured Order.

“The 3rd degree is arguably the most vibrant degree in our KSM Knighthood journey representing energy, commitment, resilience and the “‘can do” spirit! Perhaps that’s why the 3rd Degree colour is Royal purple.

“It is a milestone which proves that you have been fully tried and tested over the last 10 years, that you have gone through the furnace, come out refined and now you are of the highest quality.”

“So, I say to you ‘be worthy’ – ‘esto dignus’ is an inscription on an old Knights of Colombus Squire badge. It asks that you strive to be and remain exemplary,” he advised.
