MFM denies reported jailing of former pastors

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has refuted claims by former pastors, Mr Femi Jimoh and Caleb Oloruntele, that the church locked them up for nine years.

The church said it had nothing to gain in framing them up or jailing anyone.

It said it was absurd to imagine that MFM would stoop so low to frame up its pastors on a false claim that the Chief Security Officer of the church was seen in a herbalist’s house.

MFM’s rebuttal followed a viral online video by one of the pastors, accusing the General Overseer, Dr Daniel Olukoya, and the church of having an unforgiving spirit, and claiming that he was in prison for nine years.

Speaking to newsmen in Lagos, the Chief Legal Adviser of the church, Mr Davisdon Adejuwon, clarified that the church and Dr Olukoya did not jail Mr Femi Jimoh and Caleb Oloruntele or any other person for nine years or for any period at all.

The lawyer said it was not true that Dr Olukoya bore an unforgiving spirit, describing the claims as lies.

He said Dr Olukoya and the church remained committed to the welfare, spiritual and physical wellbeing, and development of its members and humanity.
