Mide Fash makes musical debut with Gold And Fire

Mide

Award-winning author, writer, public speaker and spoken word poet, Ayomide Fasedu has made her entry into the music scene under the moniker, Mide Fash with the release of her first single titled Gold and Fire.

The new hit is a juxtaposition of Afro-Soul elements and R&B laid over relaxing piano notes and trumpet chords. In the Gold and Fire, the poet-turned-singer sings about the quality of love she enjoys from her lover, switching from English to Yoruba to express the profound emotions she feels as she likens the said lover to gold and fire, a curious type that causes no harm when it burns.

Inspired by her Yoruba roots and rich literary background with deep interests in the concept of love and chaos, the debut single captures the playful sound between the earlier met sweetness of love with the power of chaos to create a soulful and effervescent sound.

A multi-instrumentalist among her many talents, Mide Fash had previously tested the waters on a collaboration with alternative musician Blackmagic on the record The Call, off the latter’s most recent body of work.

Available on Spotify and all other streaming platforms, Gold and Fire is simply the ethereal-sounding herald and precursor of her musical journey which she intends to cement with her debut album set to be titled Wildfire and Chocolate Toppings.
