Military kill 49 B’Haram terror suspects, rescue 154 camptives in Borno

TROOPS of the Nigerian Army yesterday were said to have killed 49 terror suspects while 154 captives were rescued after the Boko Haram insurgents ambushed the soldiers on patrol along the 54-kilometre Pulka-Bama road in Borno State.

Briefing newsmen yesteray on the ongoing military operations at the media centre, Maiduguri, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya

Dole, Maj-Gen. Yusha’u Abubakar disclosed that several arms and ammunition were also recovered, after the insurgents were repelled in a two-hour fierce gun battle.

“The Boko Haram insurgents laid ambush on our soldiers along Pulka, Bama, Maiduguri axis where they swiftly repelled the attack, killing 15 insurgents, while 10 AK 47 rifles, an RPG and other ammunition recovered.

“Also in their routine patrol our men killed 34 insurgents, recovered 15 AK 47 rifles, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in theJakana-Alagarno axis,” said Abubakar .
