Ministry unveils humanitarian opportunities: Job alert for aid workers in Plateau State



…Nigerian Airforce to support Ministry deliver more humanitarian relief materials to Hinterlands.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs had at first day in office as a minister stated that the Ministry will create jobs for millions of Nigeria. As part of the New Year’s plans, the Ministry will be hiring temporal Hummanitarian aid workers and deploying them to every location where there are humanitarian crises going forward. This will not only reduce unemployment but will improve our response time and the quality of response going forward.

These people will be hired for three months in the first instance, and if the crisis is protracted, they may be made to stay 6 months or one year maximum. She said that persons who have skills and experience working in humanitarian crisis situations will have greater advantages.

To improve on inclusiveness, members of the public who wish to apply may do so as a written application to the department of Humanitarian Affairs or as an online application ( portal link will be punlicised by Monday). Application for the job is totally free.


In line with the President’s directives, more relief materials have arrived Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Mangu LGAs of Plateau state. Communities are expected to work with the security agencies on the ground to ensure protection and fair distribution of items to all affected. They include both food and none food items as part of humanitarian response.

In the same vien, the Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, who spoke through the Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Commodore Wapkerem Maigida, assured the Minister that the will support the ministry to move both Humanitarian Aid Workers and relief materials to states and hinter lands where they are most needed. He made this pledge during his visit to the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr Betta Edu. He said this was in line with their civil military relations service. “Beyond security, the Nigerian Airforce provides humanitarian support to communities working with relevant government MDAs” He said.
