MTV Base day returns to the good beach with star-studded lineup


As part of activities for its anniversary celebration dubbed MTV Base Day, leading youth culture and entertainment channel brand, MTV Base will on Friday, April 26, return to The Good Beach at 5p.m.


According to the Senior Channels Manager, Paramount Africa, Busola Komolafe, with performances that promise to set the stage ablaze and keep the energy soaring throughout the night, this year’s MTV Base Day celebration will feature electrifying performances from some of the biggest music stars and disc jockeys (DJs) in Nigeria, like Iyanya, Magnito, and Dice Ailes, along with DJ Neptune, DJ Spin, DJ Keywe, DJ CasperSandra, Sl The DJ, and Dan D’ DJ.

Komolafe noted that as the foremost channel for platforming African talent, MTV Base has not only set the stage for groundbreaking music and cultural experiences since its inception but has also showcased the vibrance and diversity of African music to a global audience. She averred that this year’s MTV Base Day solidifies that legacy as it commemorates another year of championing African talent on the global stage.

Sharing her excitement about the event, Komolafe said, “MTV Base Day’ will be an unforgettable experience for all in attendance. MTV Base has always been a trailblazer in showcasing the vibrance and diversity of African music.”


“Our anniversary celebration serves as a reminder of our dedication to celebrating African sound to the global audience, and we’re pleased to continue our partnership with The Good Beach for the second consecutive year,” she added.

In addition to the star-studded lineup of performers, celebrities like Eltee Skhillz, Skales, Toye, Minz, Kashcoming, and Daala Oruwari are set to make a guest appearance. The dynamic MTV Base Culture Squad Members, Ilooise ‘Ilowitdflo’ Omonhinmin and Oluchi Harrison will take charge as hosts, bringing their unmatched flair and energy to the event.

Meanwhile, attendance to event is strictly by invitation or through The Good Beach’s access fee, offering fans the opportunity to participate in this iconic celebration of African music. Leading brands Koso, Flying Fish, Regal Deluxe and Darling Hair are proud supporters of the event.
