N37billion fraud: Umar-Farouq arrives EFCC office

The Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouk, has arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to meet with interrogators.

Umar-Farouq is under investigation over the alleged diversion of N37,170,855,753.44 during her tenure in office through a contractor, James Okwete.

The former minister arrived at the EFCC headquarters at about 10:00 am on Monday, according to reporters.


She also tweeted about her presence at the EFCC headquarters, stating that she had arrived at the commission office to offer clarifications on the commission investigation.

“I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating,” Umar-Farouq tweeted.
