Naana Donkor Arthur: From humble beginnings to influential media personality

Naana Donkor Arthur, known professionally as NDA, has made a significant mark in both the health care and media industries. Born Eunice Naana Arthur on November 4, 1981, in Agona Nyakrom, Central Region of Ghana, her journey from a small town to international recognition is a story of resilience and ambition.


Naana’s early education took place at ADC Primary School in Nyakrom, where she completed her Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Following this, she moved to Tema, a suburb of Accra, and engaged in various forms of petty trading before finding her passion in fashion design. Her life took a dramatic turn in 2000 when she won the American Visa Lottery, leading to her relocation to the United States in 2001.

In America, Naana pursued further education, obtaining a training certificate as a home health aide from the Liberty Home Health Training Center in 2002. She continued her education at the ABC Training Center at Fordham Road, New York, earning a certificate as a Certified Nurse Assistant in 2006. Naana has since dedicated over a decade to the home health sector, demonstrating a commitment to caring for others.

In 2019, Naana expanded her horizons by launching “Live with NDA,” a popular social media program. Broadcasting from New York, the show features interviews with various guests, including high-profile Ghanaian celebrities such as Reverend Lord Kenya, Kofi Kinaata, Fameye, Kuami Eugene, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, and Jackie Appiah. The program covers a range of topics from entertainment and lifestyle to current affairs, earning her a dedicated following.

Aside from her media endeavors, Naana is also a committed philanthropist. She has made numerous donations to children’s homes and individuals in need through her NDA Charity, a non-profit organization focused on providing health, education, and shelter to vulnerable community members.

Naana’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. In 2021, she was honored as the Top US-Based Female Blogger at the 10th edition of the 3G Media Awards, alongside other notable personalities such as Honorable Kennedy Agyapong and Ohemaa Mercy. In 2022, she was nominated for Best Entertainer at the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA, and though she did not win that year, she clinched the title of Entertainer of the Year in 2023.
