Napoli are exploring potential replacements for their star forward, Victor Osimhen, who is expected to leave the club during the summer transfer window. Among the potential candidates, Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has caught the attention of the Italian club as a possible replacement for Osimhen.

Moffi’s outstanding performances in Ligue 1 with OGC Nice have solidified his reputation as a reliable goal-scorer. He recently scored in Nice’s 2-2 draw against Marseille at the Stade VĂ©lodrome, increasing his season tally to 11 goals. Moffi’s best goal-scoring season to date was in the 2020/2021 season with Lorient, where he netted 14 times in 32 appearances.

Napoli’s search for a replacement for Osimhen has led them to consider other centre-forwards of Nigerian descent, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, who plays for the Dutch national team. However, the addition of Moffi to the list of potential replacements underscores Napoli’s interest in bolstering their attacking options with proven talent.

Moffi is contracted with Nice until the summer of 2027, and his estimated transfer value of €30 million is within Napoli’s budget. This could make him a viable candidate to fill the void left by Osimhen’s potential departure.

In addition to Moffi, other players such as Lille’s Jonathan David have also been linked to Napoli, reflecting the club’s intent to secure a reliable striker to maintain their competitive edge in Serie A and other competitions.

Overall, Napoli’s focus on Nigerian strikers like Moffi, Boniface, and Zirkzee suggests a keen interest in players who have demonstrated goal-scoring capabilities and versatility in European leagues. The upcoming transfer window will reveal Napoli’s final choice to replace Osimhen, but Moffi’s inclusion on the list highlights his growing reputation in European football.
