National hospital denies issuing medical report to suspended Kano anti-corruption boss

Muhuyi Magaji Rimin-Gado

The suspended Chairman of Kano Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimin-Gado, may be in for serious trouble as the National Hospital, Abuja, yesterday denied issuing any medical report to him.

In a statement signed by its Director, Clinical Service/CMAC, Dr. A.A. Umar, the hospital also declared that there was no patient named Muhuyi Magaji Rimin-Gado in its record, adding that no folder was opened in that name.

The medical facility was apparently responding to an enquiry made by the Kano State House of Assembly on the medical record of the embattled anti-graft boss, who is presently facing probe before the lawmakers.

An ad hoc committee of the House investigating Rimin-Gado last week suspended the probe indefinitely over his alleged health challenges, which was backed with a medical report purportedly obtained from the National Hospital Abuja.

But the hospital, in a letter titled NHA/CMAC/GC/0117/2021/V:I/01, clearly refuted the laboratory test result said to have been conducted at the facility.

“Reference to your request letter KNHA/CON/077 dated 16th July, 2021, seeking to verify the authenticity or otherwise of Muhuyi Magaji’s attached medical report.

“There is no patient named Muhuyi Magaji in our hospital. That by our record the name and signature of doctor (Dr. Bayo) on the medical report do not belong to any staff of National Hospital Abuja,” Umar noted.

However, Rimin-Gado has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to one Dr. Bayo Ayodele to explain the doubt surrounding the medical report issued to him.

Rimin-Gado, in a letter issued by Adesina Oke and Associate, threatened to take all lawful actions against Ayodele if he fails to clear the doubt about the medical report he (Ayodele) issued him after collecting his blood samples.

Rimin-Gado expressed shock over the revelation made by the National Hospital, saying Ayodele, who had collected his blood samples, placed him under medical instruction including sufficient rest and issued him the medical report.
