Senior Special Assistant to the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) on Public Enlightenment, Oliver Okpala, has said the show of solidarity by leaders of North Central led by former Senate President, Ameh Ebute, to the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, indicates wide acceptability across the country.

White, who was Senate President in the Third Republic, had led the North Central leaders in a show of solidarity to Ganduje, for him to continue in office, irrespective of the zoning arrangements in the party.

Ganduje, at the occasion, reaffirmed APC’s unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Okpala, who issued a statement on the development, commended the North Central leaders and urged them to continue supporting Tinubu and Ganduje.

According to him, the leaders’ solidarity with Ganduje was genuine and in consonance with Tinubu’s vision of placing the right people in relevant positions.

The APC chairman’s aide maintained that the move showed that they were men of sound political wisdom. He stated: “They told Ganduje that he was eminently qualified for the position, irrespective of the fact that he is not from the North Central, but from North West; that his leadership style and comportment had earned him wide acceptability.

“They said he was duly appointed by the organs of the party being carried along and his leadership style is all accommodating, giving room for peace and tranquility in the APC; that though he is from the North West, they also appreciate that the Federal Government had given them the office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).”

Okpala also emphasised Ganduje’s advice to Nigerians during the meeting, that they should not be perturbed by criticisms of Tinubu’s reforms, asserting that they were designed to divert attention from the government’s progressive agenda.
