NDLEA arrests woman with drugged cakes

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Wednesday, 24 April 2024, arrested one Jennifer Iliya in Bayelsa State for producing and distributing cakes laced with illicit drugs especially cannabis sativa.

The NDLEA, in a statement, revealed that Iliya was arrested at Amarata area of Yenagoa, the state capital.

At the time of the 28-year-old’s arrest, substantial number of the drugged cakes weighing 1.5kg were recovered from her.

Also, a 20-year-old hair stylist, Josephine Odunu and a dispatch rider, Edesemi Ikporo, 30, were arrested for drug related offence.


The suspects were arrested on Sunday, 10 March, 2024 also in Yenagoa.

Meanwhile, two suspects, Joseph Dadik and Bensha Yari, were apprehended with 24,180 ampoules of pentazocine injection.

The duo were arrested by the NDLEA at Sabon Tasha, Kaduna.
