‘New Ejigbo scheme will reduce housing deficit’

The promoter of a new housing scheme situated along Ejigbo/Ikotun road in Lagos outskirt has said that the project would transform the community and reduce housing deficit.

The site and services scheme embarked upon by Beka Properties consist of 100 plots of land. The house types include 2020 model duplex and 2019 model bungalow design.

Speaking on the proposed project, an official of Beka Properties, Mr. Bola Bakare, stated that a plot of land in the proposed estate goes for N15 million and backed by a flexible repayment plan for a period of three months.

He explained that the subscribers are entitled to a sub-lease from a global Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) with approved building plan.

“We have sandfilled about 75 per cent of the estate. In the next four or five months, this area would be transformed. The project come in phases. We are going to provide all the necessary facilities such as transformer, water, and road network,” he said.

Bakare disclosed that part of the project would also include a ‘build and sell’ scheme.

Essentially, he reassured that subscribers wouldn’t have issues with their investment with authorities.

Bakare observed that despite spending huge fund on the site, it’s still within the affordability range for intending buyers.

He added, “We have signed the necessary documents as people would ask why are you bringing us to a canal and what is the genuineness of the property. We do expect that the land grabbers would come, litigations and chiefs in the area will demand the necessary papers that cover the property.

“Without those documents, we won’t be able work and provide essential amenities because we are known everywhere. We operate in Island, Ikeja and Lekki.”

He also stated that subscribers to the scheme could get their plots and build for themselves or reach out to experts who would help them to develop the property to their taste.
