13 die in multiple auto crashes in Delta
No fewer than 13 persons were killed on Thursday in an accident that involved three vehicles near the office of Delta Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), in Ibusa.
Confirming the incident on Friday, the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), State Sector Commander, Mr Rindom Kumven, said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, that the accident was caused by poor visibility and speeding by one of the drivers of the vehicles involved in the crash.
According to him, 17 persons were involved in the accident in which 13 persons- 11 males and two females- died.
Four other persons were injured and taken to St. Joseph Hospital and St. Rebecca Hospital in Asaba, while the dead bodies were deposited at Ibusa General Hospital.
“The accident happened along Asaba-Ogwashi-Uku road near ADP junction, Ibusa at about 7p.m on Thursday,” the FRSC official said.
