The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has petitioned the President of the Court of Appeal, praying for the disbandment of the appeal panel set up to hear the appeal between its candidate, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

In the petition signed by its chairman, Senator Emma Nwaka and titled Urgent need to disband the panel set up to hear the appeal in appeal. No. CA/OW/EPT/GOV/6/2015: Alex Otti and ANOR V Okezie Ikpeazu and 2 others, the PDP said its request is supported by overwhelming and incontrovertible evidence tilting to the fact that the present panel will not be fair to all parties in the matter in discharge of its judicial function.

PDP said apart from the fact that Otti allegedly boasted that he will influence the decision of the appellate court on November 4, 2015, he had allegedly hinted his party members of his contact with various justices of the Court of Appeal in Lagos.
