The state President, National Union of Adamawa State Students, Billai Abdulahi has issued a two-day ultimatum to the commissioner for high education, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Rufai and the special assistant to the governor on students’ affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Ahmad Marafa to resign within two days, or face the wrath of students.

While addressing journalists yesterday, in Yola, the president accused the commissioner and the governor’s aide of fomenting trouble in the union and other higher institutions in the state, pointing out that the duo if not removed from office, would soon destroy the state’s education sector.

Abdulahi said if the commissioner fails to resign latest Tuesday, the union will on Wednesday mobilise over 10,000 students and take over the ministry of education.

“We are giving the commissioner and the SA two working days, starting from tomorrow (Monday) to resign their appointments because of their incompetence, fanatism and lack of respect for the rule of law and students of Adamawa State.”
