Leaders of pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, in Ondo State, have expressed confidence that the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, will entrench real federalism in the country.

The leaders also emphasised that Tinubu would not abandon the promise he made as regards restructuring at the Akure home of Pa Reuben Fasoranti. While congratulating Tinubu on his victory at the polls, the leaders in a statement issued by the immediate past General-Secretary, Seinde Arogbofa, listed the country’s economy, security among others as areas needing urgent attention.

The statement reads: “Nigeria is a heterogeneous community. We are happy at the emergence of a true federalist in person of Tinubu as president-elect. We are convinced he will be able to prevent the swallowing up of any of the major components that constitute the federal nature of the country, and still allow the minor groups to exist without being suffocated or wiped out.”They expressed confidence that Tinubu would keep to their presentation to him during his campaign.

THE Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, yesterday has urged the president-elect to start working on how to rescue Nigerians from hardship. In a statement released by his Media Officer, Moses Olafare, the monarch described Tinubu as a man of destiny, a game-changer and a progressive workaholic, who does not only merit the victory but also has the capacity to lead the country to an enviable position in the comity of nations.

“As a pragmatic leader and manager of resources with adequate proven capacity to lead this country to an enviable position within the comity of nations, please don’t disappoint Nigerians and the Africans,” Ooni said.

He charged Tinubu to immediately assemble a transition team of cerebral men and women to come up with an economic recovery blueprint and, upon his inauguration, swiftly move into action in a way that will further assure Nigerians of the ‘Renewed Hope’

ON his part, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams, has described the victory of the APC presidential candidate as a reflection of his doggedness and consistency in Nigeria’s politics.

The Yoruba generalissimo stated that by virtue of his position as the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land and a Nigerian citizen, it is also very important for him to congratulate the president-elect on his victory at the just concluded presidential polls.

Adams, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Aderemi, urged Tinubu to remain committed to the ideals of democracy by fulfilling his promise to be the “servant of the people”.

ALSO, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Sen. Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, yesterday, felicitated with the former governor of Lagos, commending Nigerians for their choice through their votes. In a message by his Personal Assistant (Media), Oladele Ogunsola, the Olubadan urged Nigerians, especially the political class, to ensure smooth transition of power come May this year. He saluted the president-elect’s tenacity of purpose, focus, determination and political sagacity, which earned him the victory.
