AS part of its efforts to enlighten the public on the series of Federal Government’s intervention projects meant to secure the environment and save lives across the country, the Ecological Fund Office (EFO) in the Presidency has formally released a book meant to showcase its achievements.

In a statement in Abuja by John Moses, spokesman of Thinkers Communications on behalf of the EFO, the book also contains a comprehensive list of government’s intervention programmes.

The book titled “Saving lives and Securing Environment: Chronicle of Federal Government’s Ecological Interventions” was part of government’s desire in creating awareness about its remedial actions to tackle the menace.

According to him, the 212-page compendium documents some of the life-saving efforts and activities of the Federal Government aimed at taming the country’s environment and ecosystem and the challenges therein.

The statement said: “The six-chapter book published by Thinkers Communications on behalf of the Ecological Fund Office highlights Nigeria’s ecological problems which include soil erosion, floods, oil pollution, water and air pollutions, waste mismanagement, drought, desertification and afforestation, and the consequent establishment of Ecological Fund Office (EFO) under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and supervised by the National Committee on Ecological Problems (NCEP).
