Ajadi urges Nigerians to embrace active civic participation in New Year message
In his New Year message, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, the gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun State during the 2024 governorship election, expressed a heartfelt call to action for Nigerians, urging them to include increased participation in the nation’s electoral process in their New Year resolutions.
Ajadi’s resonating message emphasised the critical role active civic engagement plays in strengthening the democratic process and ensuring the emergence of credible leaders committed to good governance.
As the clock ticks into a new year, Ajadi has not only extended warm wishes to Nigerians but has also delivered a compelling message urging citizens to embrace a heightened sense of civic responsibility.
In a thoughtful New Year missive, Ajadi highlighted the pressing need for increased involvement in the electoral process as a cornerstone for shaping the nation’s future.
Ajadi underscored the crucial importance of civic engagement, stating that an active and informed citizenry is the bedrock of any thriving democracy. He pointed out that citizens’ active participation ensures accountability and transparency in governance, fostering an environment where the leaders are responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people.
While commending the resilience and industry of Nigerian youths, Ajadi urged them to channel their energies towards positive forces in the country. He acknowledged the historical challenges faced by the youth and called for a united front against deceptive politicians who, he argued, discard the youth after riding to power.
Speaking on his party, the NNPP, Ajadi said it stands as a beacon for a reinvigorated Nigeria where systems work efficiently for the benefit of all citizens. The party, he said, has meticulously articulated sustainable and inclusive programs aimed at empowering youths, women, and children, ensuring they can contribute meaningfully to national development.
Looking ahead, Ajadi pledged concrete actions to support his words. He announced plans to initiate employment generation, wealth creation, and capacity-building programs designed to engage Nigerian youths and women actively. These programs, he believes, will contribute significantly to poverty reduction and societal development.
He also offered a prayer for a prosperous year for all Nigerians and expressed optimism that with increased civic participation and a collective commitment to positive change, 2024 holds the promise of a brighter future for the nation.
Ajadi also urged Nigerians to recognise the transformative power of their collective voice. He emphasised that, now more than ever, active participation is the key to steering the nation towards a path of progress, unity, and prosperity.
