APC’s Nwifuru close to winning Ebonyi governorship election

The candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) Francis Nwifuru is set to emerge as governor of Ebonyi State.

With 12 out of the 13 local government areas results already announced, Nwifuru, who is Ebonyi Speaker, is ahead of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) candidate Ifeanyi Odii.

Odii has won only his Onicha local government while Nwifuru came out tops in nine local government areas.

In Onicha, Odii polled over 15,503 while Nwifuru got 5,140 in the local government area.

However, in Izzi local government area Nwifuru polled 48, 481 votes while Odii got only 1,429 votes.

If Nwifuru eventually emerges winner, he will replace David Umahi also of the ruling APC.
