The Nigerian Army has lauded the Ondo State Government for what it described as a swift and decisive response to the recent security alert over a purported plan by a terrorist group to attack some parts of the state.

According to the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations for the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Major Njoka Irabor, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, acted promptly upon receiving the alert.

Irabor, who spoke during an official visit to the state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, in his office in Akure, stressed that an emergency security meeting was held following the security alert, with all security agencies placed on high alert.

The Army spokesperson, who commended the state government for its continuous support to the military and other security formations, said that the governor recently presented utility vehicles and other operational equipment to security agencies to enhance their efficiency and operational readiness across the state.

On his part, Ajanaku hailed the army’s commitment to safeguarding the state, assuring that the ministry would continue to support the military and other security agencies through effective information dissemination and public enlightenment. He noted that timely intelligence from the public plays a vital role in helping the government and security agencies prevent criminal acts and maintain peace.
