While thanking Allah for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the governor noted that the celebration revolves around love, almsgiving to the less privileged, and peaceful co-existence with people of other religions.

Aliyu urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of Ramadan beyond fasting, stressing the need for tolerance, love, sympathy, the spirit of sharing, and forgiveness in daily life.
He said the state government had, since the beginning of the Ramadan fast, been assisting the needy, vulnerable groups and the physically challenged with food, cash and textiles.
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, on his part, urged citizens to continually imbibe the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and self-discipline.
