EMINENT Nigerians yesterday condoled with Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, over the death of his deputy, Alhaji Zanna Umar Mustapha, saying his death was not only a loss to his people and family, but also to the entire generation of Nigeria’s young politicians.

Among those who condoled with the Borno State governor and people of the state over the death of Mustapha include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Ibrahim Gaidam (Yobe), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Kwara State House of Assembly Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad, Kogi State Deputy Governor, Mr. Yomi Awoniyi, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum under the leadership of the Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, among others.

Atiku, while extending his sympathy to the government, the family and the people of Borno State, prayed to Allah to grant external blessings to the soul of the deceased.

In a statement issued in Sokoto by his spokesman, Tambuwal described the deceased as a committed democrat who worked hard to ensure the return of peace to his state and the North-East, saying that Governor Shettima has lost a trusted ally and a refined human being who never shy away from giving his best to the people.

Also, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum under the chairmanship of the Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, has sent condolence message to the Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, over the death of his deputy, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha, whose death occurred at the weekend.

In a statement issued in Owerri, the APC noted in sadness that the late Mustapha died when his wealth of experience was needed at the stage of democratic dispensation by the people of Borno State and Nigeria.
