Bayelsa school wins national safety quiz contest

TWO students of Winners International Academy, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State and representatives of South South region, Emiemokumo Gesiye-emi and Suoyo Tari have won the 2015 edition of national safety quiz competition for senior secondary schools.

The contest, which is sponsored by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in partnership with Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), is aimed at creating awareness among school children on the important of safety.

Corps Marshal and Chief Executive Officer of FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, while speaking at the event in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said the quiz was vital, as it would continue to educate children on various road signs as well as help reduce the alarming rate of road accidents across the federation.

Also speaking, the Managing Director, SPDC/Country Chair, Osagie Okunbor commended the finalists, saying they were special.
