The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) has shortlisted 19 bidders for the Afam Power Generation Company and Yola Distribution Company (YDC) put up for sale by the Federal Government.

At the close of the submission of bids for Expression of Interest (EOIs) in the two power facilities, seven companies put in applications for Afam while Yola DisCo got 12 interested buyers.

A statement by BPE’s Head, Public Communications, Amina Tukur, said the selected firms were renowned players in the power industry. The bids were advertised on August 16, 2018.

The Yola utility is being put up for resale having originally been privatised and handed over to the core investor in 2013.
