The Global Visionary Leadership Summit 2025, held at the Silverbird Galleria, Central Business District, Abuja, brought together an extraordinary lineup of leaders and innovators from across Africa under the theme “Empowering Leaders: Inspiring Impact.”
The annual summit, which has become one of the continent’s most anticipated gatherings for thought leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers, served as a platform for knowledge sharing, mentorship, and collaboration aimed at strengthening Africa’s leadership landscape in the 21st century.
Among the distinguished panellists was Amb. Charity Egua, Product Manager and Co-Founder of We EarnIT Nig Limited, and African Youth Ambassador (AUYC), who was also honoured with the prestigious Digital Tech Leader of the Year Award. The recognition celebrated her remarkable contributions to promoting digital innovation, women’s inclusion in technology, and ethical leadership within Africa’s fast-evolving tech ecosystem.
During the panel session titled “Beyond Authority: Building Influence and Trust as a Leader,” Egua delivered an insightful contribution focused on empathy, emotional intelligence, and accountability as key drivers of authentic leadership in the digital era. Her message highlighted the importance of leading with compassion, fostering trust within teams, and using technology as a bridge for inclusion and impact.
“Leadership is not about commanding authority, it’s about earning trust,” Egua said during the session. “In the digital age, our ability to empathise, listen, and lead with integrity determines how deeply we can inspire others and create meaningful impact.”
Her insights on human-centred leadership in the digital age resonated strongly with the audience, emphasising that influence is built through compassion, responsibility, and authentic connection rather than authority alone. Attendees described her presentation as both inspiring and practical, noting that her words reflected the values needed to build credible leadership in an increasingly digital world.
The summit featured an impressive roster of distinguished personalities, including Hon. Senator Shehu Sani, Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, HRH Mrs. Omu Onyebuchi Okonkwo, Fafa Gozo, Dame Dr. Mary Anne-Mensah, Dr. Khadijah Musa Sadiqah, Hon. Zinab Buba Galadima CFR, and Damilare Ajiboye, CEO of Ocean Trends Digital, among others.
The event was convened and hosted by Amb. Dr. Chinwe Lillian. In her remarks, Dr Chinwe commended all award recipients and panellists for their remarkable impact, noting that the summit’s goal is to “empower leaders who lead with purpose, resilience, and heart.”
Speaking after receiving her award, Egua expressed gratitude to the organisers for recognising her work in promoting digital innovation and ethical leadership. She reaffirmed her commitment to leveraging technology to drive empowerment, collaboration, and positive change across Africa’s growing digital ecosystem.
The Global Visionary Leadership Summit continues to stand as one of Africa’s premier platforms celebrating leadership excellence, collaboration, and innovation, inspiring a new generation of transformational leaders across industries.
