Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Wale Oke has called on President Mohammed Buhari not to spare anyone in his ongoing war against corruption but make culprits face the wrath of the law.

The cleric who spoke at a luncheon with reporters held on the church premises lamented the rot in the system and the bad image corruption has given the nation abroad.

He said: “We should not use ethnicity to cover corruption. Corrupt people should be made to face the wrath of law. They are not elected to loot the country’s common wealth. Don’t spare them, let us expose them. I heard someone said corrupt people should be forgiven if they return the money but I say a big no to that. Corrupt people should not be forgiven otherwise we are rewarding iniquity and it will mean that in future anyone could get away with it.

“The person who said corrupt people should be forgiven spoke as a pastor but Buhari is not a pastor. In church if you stole money and you were caught you will be forgiven but you won’t be in charge of the treasury anymore but in governance we didn’t put the president in power to forgive those who stole our common wealth.”
