Cowbellpedia 2025 has ended with the awarding of N5 million each to Peace Adewole of Welkins International School and Kenechukwu Azuike of St. Gregory’s College, winners of the Junior and Senior categories, respectively.
Both also received an all-expense-paid educational trip to Kenya, a year’s supply of Cowbell products, and ICT equipment for their schools.
The competition, themed “The Mega Minds,” recorded participation from over 5,000 secondary school students aged 11–17 across Nigeria, beginning with a computer-based test. From this initial pool, 132 students advanced to the elimination stage, 48 reached the quarterfinals, 16 progressed to the semi-finals, and 8 competed in the finals.
The final event featured four quiz segments—60 Seconds of Fame, Zone of Power, Cowbellpedia Bank, and Dignitary Shots—under the supervision of guest dignitary Francois Gillet, Managing Director of Promasidor Nigeria Ltd. Adewole secured her win in the Junior category by answering a question in the Dignitary Shots round in 0.52 seconds, while Haruna Salvin came second with 0.88 seconds. In the Senior category, Azuike took first place ahead of Fopefoluwa Adegboye, Prince Orji, and Lyon Awhaisoba.
Other prizes included N3 million for first runners-up, N2 million for second runners-up, and N500,000 for third runners-up. Teachers and parents were also recognised, with the top educators, Mr. Babayode Samuel and Mr. Egbeyemi Stephen, each receiving N1 million and laptops. Parents of the winning students in each category received N500,000.
Gillet commended the participants, saying, “I congratulate every student who participated in this competition. You have done something great for yourselves. No matter what happens, you are all winners.” Marketing Director Adebola Williams stated that the programme would continue to promote STEM education nationwide.
The competition, which ran for 14 weeks and featured 78 quiz rounds, distributed prizes to students, teachers, and parents, totalling up to N100 million.
