THE Cross River State and Australian governments are exploring possible areas of collaborations to boost their economies.

Australia is looking at solid minerals, agriculture, fabrication as well as energy sectors in which to invest while taking advantage of the peaceful investment climate in the state.

Australian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Jonathan Richardson told Governor Ben Ayade in Calabar during a courtesy visit that said his country, which had already pitched its business tents in some parts of the country, was willing to collaborate with the state government to develop some identified sites and turns them to viable business ventures.

The envoy maintained that the state presents itself as a more secure and safer part of the country which makes it more suitable and veritable ground for investment.

He promised to take advantage of the peaceful nature of the state by attracting investors to the state.
