The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the death of a cult member, identified simply as Segun, after being chased by a rival cult.
The command, in a statement on Wednesday, said that Segun’s right wrist was chopped off.
It said Segun, also known as “Ojo Ibo,” was killed around 11.30 pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Bode Olude Junction, Abeokuta, the state capital.
According to the police, Segun was chased by a rival cult group and subsequently killed.
The police also disclosed that they apprehended another suspected cultist, Ishola Joseph, during the incident.
Joseph, who was part of the attacking cult group, was attempting to flee the scene before he was nabbed by policemen, the command added.
