The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has commiserated with the immediate family and all Nigerians as a whole for the loss of Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark who died on Monday at the age of 97.
In a statement signed by Mark Adebayo, National Spokesperson of the Coalition, CUPP said: “The death of Chief Edwin Clark has again cost Nigeria one of its brightest and commendable elder statesmen just a few days after losing Pa Ayo Adebanjo, another giant in the constellation of Nigeria’s best.
“Pa Edwin Clark’s contributions to the sociopolitical development of Nigeria was both historic and indelible. He stood against the environmental degradation of his people and region of the Niger Delta as much as he fought for democracy and justice in Nigeria as a whole.
“He was a constant denominator in the efforts to fix Nigeria’s myriad of challenges in conjunction with other patriotic elements across the length and breadth of Nigeria. He was a voice of wisdom, caution, and justice.”
