No fewer than 110, 048 children were immunised during the last round of immunisation against the polio virus in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa, an official said on Monday.

Alhaji Suraj Muhammad, the Manager, National Programme on Immunisation (NPI) in the state, said this in Dutse.

Muhammad said that the council received enough doses of Oral Polio Vaccines (OPVs) for the smooth conduct of the exercise.

He commended religious and traditional leaders in the council for their support at ensuring the success of the immunisation programme.

The manager, who spoke through the council’s Information Officer, Malam Abdullahi Yakubu, further commended the local government for its support for the successful conduct of the exercise.

Muhammad also expressed satisfaction at the impressive turnout of children during the exercise, and commended parents for their full cooperation.
