Esezobor Christian Murphy fondly called Eg Royce is set to release his long awaited track ‘My Brother’ after hectic and tough journey in music. Eg Royce has a history of using his music for social change. This track will be released, on February 24, together with a visual. This music video is directed by MKFilms.
The Afro hip pop artiste said he choose to drop this track because the world needs more unity, love, and peace. According to him, the saying ‘together we stand we stand and divided we fall’ inspired the song. He believes that it will help remind listeners of the need to build on the foundation of love for humanity.
“If you look closely you can see things falling apart, people no longer see the need for love. I picked the title as ‘my brother’ because as a humanitarian song, I intend use it as a medium to bring people together while reminding everyone that we are brothers and sisters. The message is unity, togetherness, respect and love for each other. No matter how things gets difficult, if we stick together, things will work for our good. The level of division in the world today is alarming that if care if not taken it might lead to a serious issue for humanity”, he stated in a recent interview.
He continued on to describe his creative process and the impact the song is meant to have on his audience. “When I make music, the first thing I do is to target a particular audience and pass my message. As long as my producer understands me, we are good to go. Sometimes it takes less than 3 – 5 hours to complete a session depending on the message I am trying to create”.
As an initiative in conjunction with his fashion brand, ‘Royce ink Fashion’, 50% of the track’s proceeds will be donated to the charity and a fund raiser will be set up for people to make their kind-hearted donations. He also urges Nigerians to be peaceful, united and vote wisely during the upcoming general elections. “Let’s practice what we preach as Christians or Muslims. We are all children of God so we must vote wisely and learn to coexist after the election with love and togetherness.

“My biggest influences on the music sphere would be Davido, Burna boy and Wizkid. They all have something I learn from them. On the business part, I’d say Don Jazzy, Dj Khalid, and Mr. P of P square.
