Addressing newsmen after inspecting the exercise at Kofar Mata Eid Ground on Thursday, the state Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Kabiru Getso, said the exercise was important.
According to him: “It’s a festive season so we have to ensure the sanctity and good hygiene at the worship centres for the season.”
Getso maintained that Kano State Government had been committed to ensuring a healthier and cleaner environment since its inception.
The Commissioner also inspected the Sharada Eid Ground, on BUK Road, where a huge volume of refuse and other unwanted materials were evacuated.
He urged Kano residents to avoid indiscriminate disposal of wastes, especially animal waste to be slaughtered during the sacrifice.
