Ekiti to build N200m artisans’ village, says Fayose

EKITI State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has assured that his administration in collaboration with some banks, would build an artisans’ village along Ikere Road, Ado-Ekiti.

He made the disclosure in Ado-Ekiti while meeting with artisans and members of the Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) at the Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has slammed Fayose over the amount he claimed to have spent on fueling streetlight in the state capital, Ado Ekiti saying the amount claim by him was far above the actual spending on the streetlight.

APC’s alarm came on the heels of increasing wave of criminal activities under the cover of the night in the state capital. The party said the governor’s claim of spending N210 million a month to power streetlights was far from the truth

In a statement yesterday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, Fayose was quoted as saying that the project could cost the state government about N200 million.

The meeting, which was called to resolve the dispute between Ekiti Artisans’ Association and NATA over the parcel of land the proposed village would be built, resolved that a committee be set up to find ways the two unions could work together.
