El-Rufai Condemns Killing Of 20 People In Kaduna
The Governor-elect of Kaduna State Malam Nasir Ahmed El- Rufai has condemned the killings of 20 residents of in Birnin Gwari Local Government area by gun men.
He therefore called for prompt investigation and arrest of the culprits by the authorities While condoling the families of he victims, the governor-elect frowned at the incessant killings of innocent people in the area, adding that there was need for security forces to act promptly to stem acts of banditry and terror in the area.
El-Rufai’s spokesperson, Mr. Samuel Aruwan disclosed this in a statement issued in Kaduna at the weekend. “The governor-elect received with sadness news of the killing of about 20 persons and the destruction of homes in a village located in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna State”.
It is barbaric and inhuman. It is unfortunate that innocent Nigerians will be brutally killed in their sleep. The governor-elect therefore condoles the affected families and the entire community over this unfortunate act.
He prays for the repose of the souls of the deceased. He also charged security agencies to redouble their efforts in ensuring maximum security in the state.”
It would be recalled that some gunmen last Wednesday killed 20 people and set houses ablaze in Gworon Dutse village, Birnin Gwari local government area of the state. The gunmen, according to reports, stormed the village in the early hours of Wednesday.
