Ex-lawmaker calls for unity in Etinan Constituency, lauds Gov Eno

Former member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh, has lauded Governor Umo Eno’s exemplary leadership, noting that strong political strategy has ensured effective representation for the people.

Speaking at the Etinan Federal Constituency Town Square Meeting in Ikot Edibon, Nsit Ubium, on Saturday, August 23rd, the prominent son of Etinan Federal Constituency said that the Constituency ensured strong leadership and proper representation for the people through sound political strategy.

He also lauded Governor Eno’s grassroots approach to development, saying, “I thank God for life and for the privilege of speaking to you today, only a few days after my birthday. I also recognise the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Pastor Umo Eno, who continues to guide Akwa Ibom with dedication,” he said.

Udoh also revealed that he plans to publish the true struggle that gave birth to the creation of Akwa Ibom State soon, promising an authentic account that captures the history and sacrifices behind the state’s establishment.

He urged constituents to support the governor and remain united as the State aims for greater height in its quest to deliver the dividends of democracy

“Let us therefore remain united, support our leaders, and carry forward this tradition of leadership.

“To the young politicians of today, I urge you to rise boldly, learn from the lessons of the past, and actively shape the future of our state.” he emphasised

Other notable leaders like General Paul Asang and former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Okon Umana, praised Governor Eno’s investments in tourism and projects such as the Akwa Ibom Towers in Lagos.

In his response, Governor Eno thanked the community for the homecoming-like event, noting that it had offered an opportunity for his administration to gather the much-needed information. He urged youths to exercise their civic right by registering on INEC portal and obtain their voters’ cards.

“If you are of voting age, make sure you register and get your voters’ card. Do not insult the elders… The young shall grow,” he said.
He also announced plans to empower entrepreneurs while supporting genuine businesses, emphasizing the importance of unity and continued progress for the state.
