Faith Works

Memory Verse: James 2:17 – “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead…”
Introduction
THE overriding importance of faith is crystal clear throughout the Bible. Faith powers our entire belief system, doctrine and action. Logic, science and reason might have to defer to a person’s faith. For, without faith, it is impossible to please God or to even access His resources, Hebrews 11:6.

Faith
Our faith is the unconditional trust and confidence in the Lord Jesus and His love, kindness and power. Whatever is not of faith is sin, Rom 14:23. The awesome unstoppable power of God was hindered by unbelief, Matt 13:58. Please power yourself through life by charging your faith batteries. Engage and activate your faith by:
• Sharing your testimony, John 4: 28-30, 39.
• Blessing others, Jam.2: 14-16.
• Fervent prayers for self and others, Jam.5: 14-19; 1 Tim.2: 1-5.
• Obedience, especially when it is absurd or difficult, Isaiah 1: 19, 2 Kings 5: 14, John 9: 7
• By performing signs and wonder and casting out demons, Mk.16: 17 and by deliverance, Is. 58: 6.

Works of Faith
Show me your faith without works and I will show you my vibrant-active living faith by my works. A living faith will always produce works and fruits. These include resisting the devil. Living faith also produces good reports. Jam.2: 21-25; Gal.2: 20; Rom.11: 20; 2 Cor.1: 24; 1 Pt.5: 9; Eph.6: 16; Heb.11: 2; Mt.17: 20; Rom.14: 23.

Conclusion
The kingdom of God requires us to work at our salvation. This is how we can please the Lord. Is your faith evidenced by good works? You need faith to download spiritual resources and bring them to bear on the here and now. The substance of faith is our hope and expectation. Our faith is the evidence of the unseen. Everything is possible to him that believes and even if your faith is shaky, God will help you if you ask Him in faith, Mark 9: 23-24. The disciples wondered why they could not cast out a demon and Jesus explained that if they had faith like the size of a mustard seed, they would be able to command even mountains and cast out all demons provided they boost their faith with prayer and fasting, Matt 17: 20. On the last day, you will hear His voice inviting you as a good and faithful servant to enter the joy of the Lord and your rest. So shall it be with you in the mighty name of Jesus.
