FCT Police launch 2025 national day with community service, clean-up

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has kicked off celebrations for National Police Day 2025 with a three-day community outreach initiative aimed at fostering stronger ties between law enforcement and the public.

The event, running from April 3 to 5, aligns with this year’s theme, “Say NO to Crime,” which emphasizes collective efforts in addressing issues such as cultism, drug abuse, sexual-based violence, cybercrime, and kidnapping.

The opening day saw a Clean-Up Exercise spearheaded by Commissioner of Police Ajao Adewale. Officers and personnel of the FCT Police Command took part in cleaning Lagos Street, Garki, and the Palace of the Sa’peyi of Garki.

The exercise underscored the role of a clean and safe environment in enhancing security and community development.

He highlighted the importance of police-community collaboration in ensuring safety and security across the FCT.

Residents are encouraged to actively engage in outreach activities and report any suspicious activities through the FCT Police Command’s emergency hotlines: 08032003913, and 08028940883.

The National Police Day 2025 events will continue with more community-driven activities, reinforcing the commitment of the FCT Police Command to proactive policing and public safety.
