GLOBACOM has introduced Gloshare and a Mobile Community telephony plan for Kwara State University (KWASU) students in an effort to transform the way students interact, share, and engage both academically and socially.
Gloshare will enable students to visit the school portal and download educational resources without using their data, Globacom announced at the launch of the product at KWASU Campus, Malete, Kwara State.
The Enterprise South West Regional Head, Mr. Adewale Adiatu, disclosed at the launch that the “Mobile Community Group lines will make it possible to have everyone in KWASU community on the same platform, where students and staff can interact freely on their mobile community plan lines.”
Enterprise National Vertical Head, Glo Enterprise Sales, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, guaranteed the smooth operation of Gloshare and CUG lines for the academic community, adding that numerous sites had been installed on campus and that further sites were in various stages of completion.
The theme of the launch event, ‘Redefining Leadership in the Age of AI: Students as Innovators, Volunteers, and Changemakers’, as well as the introduction of two ground-breaking projects, Gloshare and Mobile Community plan, made it both historic and forward-looking, according to Prof. Shaykh Luqman Jimoh, the university’s Vice Chancellor. He said he was thrilled about how these products would improve student collaboration, communication, and connectedness.
According to him, “these initiatives are homegrown, tailored to needs, and emblematic of the innovative spirit that resides within our student body.”
Similarly, the President of the Student Union Government of KWASU, Mallam Abdulafeez Babatunde Kewulere, thanked Globacom for choosing KWASU as the first beneficiary school for the Gloshare service.
“This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to empowering students with cutting-edge digital solutions,” he said. He encouraged the students to actively explore these services, which, according to him, represent the evolving standard in connectivity and collaboration.
“By leveraging these tools, you’ll not only enhance your academic experience but also stay ahead in an increasingly digital world,” he advised.
