Gombe CP Vows To Tackle Insecurity

New Gombe State Police Commissioner, Mr. Austin Iwar, has assured that he would tackle the current threats in the state stressing that his command would strategize effectively to prevent crime in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

New Gombe State Police Commissioner, Mr. Austin Iwar, has assured that he would tackle the current threats in the state stressing that his command would strategize effectively to prevent crime in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

While emphasizing the need to curb insurgency, the commissioner said State and local government councils have a crucial role to play in the effort to provide best policing services to the people.

Mr. Iwar spoke during an interaction with journalists in his office. He said appropriate measures would be taken to frustrate the activities of ‘Kalare’ in the state adding that his administration would do everything possible to maintain zero tolerance for corruption.

He warned officers with corrupt tendencies to desist from such acts and directed the monitoring and anti-corruption teams to check the activities of personnel in line with the anti-corruption agenda of the Inspector- General of Police, (IGP).

The new CP enjoined the citizens to always assist the police with cedible information and promised to run an open-door policy while calling on officers and members of the public to give the command maximum cooperation to ensure quality service delivery
