Group Debunks Alleged Graft At Amnesty Office
A GROUP, the Ijaw Monitoring Group, has described the allegation of graft in the Presidential Amnesty Office as a calculated attempt by enemies of the programme to frustrate the goals of the new boss of the agency, Gen. Paul Boroh (rtd).
In a statement signed by the coordinator, Comrade Joseph Evah, the group said the allegation against the agency is the handiwork of enemies of the Niger Delta region.
“The fact that the allegation coincided with the period the new amnesty boss appeared before the National Assembly to demand for increase in the budgetary allocation to carry out smooth operation of activities clearly shows enemies within the region are at work.
“Those of us, who work hard to maintain law and order in the region will not allow anybody to derail the new team,” he said.
He stated that the people of Niger Delta have confidence in Boroh’s ability to perform without corruption.
