The Kogi Forum of Senior Special Assistants (KFSSA) and the leadership of Governor Ododo Business Outreach (GOBO) have extended their grassroots development efforts to Kabba Central Market, empowering local traders and engaging key community stakeholders.
The initiative, The Guardian learnt, represents a significant effort to bring socio-economic growth closer to the people. The delegation, led by Yahaya Shehu Ahmed, Chairman of KFSSA and Director General of GOBO, began their activities with a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi.
The traditional ruler praised the outreach programme and commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his visionary leadership in appointing capable individuals committed to improving the lives of citizens. He described the effort as a step toward fostering closer ties between the government and the grassroots.
The GOBO team also visited the Executive Chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Council, Zacchaeus Dare Michael, at his official residence. Michael applauded the outreach, noting that it was a commendable initiative to bridge the gap between government officials and ordinary citizens.
At Kabba Central Market, the outreach team provided direct financial support to 20 petty traders, including sellers of beniseed, tomatoes, and roasted plantains.
Each beneficiary received N50,000 to expand their businesses. According to the organisers, the financial assistance aims to uplift the economic conditions of the traders and demonstrate the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of everyday Nigerians.
The programme also includes a monitoring plan to ensure the funds are effectively utilised. Two outreach team members, Femi Esemikose and Augustine Egbebi, have been assigned to follow up on the traders’ progress, ensuring the initiative achieves its objectives.
