Group seeks establishment of small-scale industries in Sokoto State
THE Aliyu Magatarkada Advocacy Group has urged wealthy individuals in Sokoto State to set up small-scale industries to create more job opportunities to complement the efforts of the state government.
The secretary of the group, Alhaji Abubakar Yabo, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) in Sokoto on Monday.
According to him, creating job opportunities for the unemployed youth will enhance internal security in the state.
Yabo also advised Governor Aminu Tambuwal to accord job creation top priority because it was one of the cardinal objectives in fighting poverty and unemployment.
He further urged the state government to continue to initiate policies and programmes that would enable residents make their contribution toward the socio-economic and political growth of the state.
