Gunmen abduct Kogi varsity don, demand N10m
Gunmen have reportedly abducted Professor John Ebeh of the Department of Philosophy, Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba (PAAU), Kogi State.
According to an eyewitness, the gunmen, who are demanding a ransom of N10m, stormed the professor’s residence in Agbeji, a suburb of Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area, around 7pm on Thursday.
A family source said Audu was approaching his gate with his car when the gunmen blocked him and whisked him away after shooting in the air to ward off passersby.
The incident was confirmed by a colleague of the professor, even though the institution he works for is yet to issue a statement.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Williams Aya, could not be reached for comment on the abduction.
