LawThe second IBA Women Business Lawyers Initiative to be held in Africa will take place in Lagos on November 2, 2015 in partnership with Federation of International Women Lawyers (FIDA), Nigeria chapter.

High level speakers hailing from key firms in the Africa, legal practitioners and the judiciary will discuss the challenges and best legal practices in Nigeria, with the aim of supporting and enabling women business lawyers to develop their international practices and enhance their awareness of standards and trends in the practice of law.

The programme will cover the rise of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in Nigeria, Investment treaty arbitration and foreign direct investment in Nigeria as well as International arbitration in oil and gas transactions.

Others are harassment, sexual harassment and abuse in the corporate workplace.

According to a statement from the IBA, mastering the rules of evidence, trial practice and preparation, in addition to effective lawyering while balancing multiple roles will form part of the discourse at the event.
